plastic conveyor belt raw material
One of the most important considerations in the choice for industrial conveyor belts is if you need it for processing food. The food industry is mostly using the white and blue colored belts. Other industries are using a bigger variety of colours such as apple green, olive green, grey, black.
In general, conveyor belts are made up of 2 main parts. A fabric insert and a cover layer on the surface which can be made of PVC, PU, polyester or rubber. These belts can be divided into two main groups.
Group 1: belts with fabric cover
These belts are covered by a layer of fabric underneath, usually impregnated. They can be used in combination with conveyor rollers, but are primarily recommended in combination with discs.
Group 2: belts with a covered bottom
These belts are covered with a layer of the same material. They are only used in combination with conveyor rollers.
Cover materials are classified by type of fabric in the webbing material:
-cross stiffener:
-curable:
-extra cross-stiff:
Cover materials are also classified by the pattern design.
-plain: no pattern, for simple conveying purposes
P6: “dragon-back”/crevasse pattern. Commonly used in bread slicers
-P8: knobbly surface, used for heavy-dury conveying purposes
-P2: “snakeskin” pattern
-NP: neapolitan/negative pyramid pattern
-P7: wire braid pattern
